Who we are
Rocket City Practical Shooters are Northern Alabama's practical pistol
shooting club affiliated with the United States
Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). We usually shoot a 5-6 course
pistol match with at least one of them a classifier for local monthly matches.
We hold our matches at the Cavern Cove Shooting Range in Woodville, Alabama. See directions web page.
Anyone with safe gun handling skills is encouraged and welcome to participate.
Our dedicated team of practical shooters will provide coaching and mentoring for
all new shooters.
For shooters new to the sport of USPSA, Speed Steel, Multi-gun, or IDPA...check out our
New Shooters Page.

Next USPSA match on April 11 will not be a sanctioned USPSA match. A few of the regulars will be out of town shooting the Area 6 Match so we decided to go with light
setup/teardown stages. Alot of speed shoots from boxes and smaller "USPSA illegal" steel plates.
If cancellation is required, we will notify here as soon as we can.
IDPA matches are held on the 1st Saturday of the month.
USPSA matches are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
Multi-gun matches are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Speed Steel matches are held on the 4th Saturday of the month.
Steel Match Format: Shoot 5 steel plates as fast
as you can for time. Shoot 5 strings of fire per stage and discarding your longest
time string for total time/score.
Multi-gun Format: A run-n-gun match using 1-3 firearms. Start with one, transition to the other and complete the stage.
This website will be updated to reflect which firearms will be used for the next match. See scrolling info above.
Rules for Steel and Multi-gun matches are posted on the New Shooter Page.

Shooter Discount Membership Renewals: Effective January 1, 2015, we will no longer use shooter discount cards. All match fees will be $15 per shooters with the exception of juniors who will shoot for $5.
